Description
Embrace the natural, cosy interiors of this romantic getaway. Open the doors to the terrace, and let the sounds of nature spill through the hut. Light the log burner inside or spend the evening gazing up at the stars from the hot tub and get back in touch with nature.
The Mallard is set on a river fronted field and has spectacular views over the valley. You’ll love this hut because of its coziness, and the views.
A truly unique and high-quality shepherds hut set in the tranquil Crai Valley; made by local tradesmen, this hut has been lovingly handcrafted using premium quality oak and red cedar. Surrounded by rolling hills and outstanding views, the hut is situated near one of the darkest places in the Dark Skies Reserve and close to a small stream with steppingstones allowing you to explore the idyllic Brecon Beacons National Park.
It's perfect for couples, solo adventurers, and a small dog.
The Space
The space inside the Shepherds hut is unique because there is a space for all - sleeping on a beautiful double bed, eating on a hand made Oak table with extra seating up to 4 people, facilities to cook in a hand made fitted kitchen with traditional farmhouse style dresser for all your crockery etc. and finally a fantastic bathroom that includes shower cubicle (not a tiny one that you would expect to find but a normal size), toilet and wash hand basin. There is storage also for all your belongings and also storage outside at the back of the hut for larger items - like suitcases etc.
Outside - well where do I start. The Mallard is set on a river fronted field with fantastic views over the valley. Guests are free to wander to the river and we have created a secret island by placing stepping stones over the river into a glade that would be perfect to picnic, or just to take a book and lose one's self. The hot tub is available for private use and is the perfect end to an adventurous or casual day out exploring the Brecon Beacons.
There are several footpaths in and around the farm that guests can follow and enjoy an afternoon of exploring or simply just relax on your deck and enjoy the tranquility of the natural surroundings with a large glass of wine.
